To promote Fox Sports Net's local NBA coverage, TBWA has produced a campaign that features a talking basketball with the voice of Robert Downey Jr. It's a story of a man and his best friend - a basketball - who helps the main character, Harold, through life's daily grind. In the August 22 issue of the Sunday Times Magazine (UK), there's a 1 1/2 page photo of Robert by Sam Taylor-Wood included in a feature called "Men Behaving Sadly". It was taken at a photo shoot in Robert's home in 2002 and a similar picture was published in GQ in November that year as part of Sam's photo series "Portraits of Sorrow". It's official. Robert and film producer Susan Levin, who met during the filming of "Gothika" in April, are engaged to be married. A soundtrack will be released around the time of the film premiere. Although the characters mostly lip-synchs in the music numbers, Robert does sing himself in the closing credits ("In My Dreams"). He also plays the piano on the soundtrack and does his own backing vocals. Robert and artist Sam Taylor-Wood first met when she filmed and directed the Elton John video, "I Want Love". Robert is to appear in her artwork. In a video piece called "Pieta", Robert will be held/carried by Sam in the manner of Michelangelo's famous religious pieta in the Vatican in Rome. According to White Cube 2, the London gallery that will display the artwork, "Pieta presents relations of dependency, nurture and support, distilling a sense of peace and calm." Vanessa Redgrave and Robert Downey Jr. will receive the inaugural Outfest Screen Idol Awards, an extension of the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival Outfest, to be held July 12-23 in L.A. The duo will be feted for their performances as gay characters in "If These Walls Could Talk 2" (Redgrave) and "Wonder Boys" (Downey). The awards were created to honor performances by an actor or actress in a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered role in a feature film or television movie. Nominees were determined by members of Outfest. Redgrave and Downey were selected by a national online vote that began on March 14; more than 5,000 ballots were cast. Entertainment Tonight did a segment on the latest issue of Vanity Fair. The magazine contains a special photo section titled Legends of Hollywood. Showing a photo of Robert from this issue, they said: "Robert Downey Jr. was photographed perched high on top of a building in downtown Los Angeles."
