I only discovered this talented actor in Tropic Thunder and Iron Man a couple of years ago. I heard about Chaplin but I didn't know who Robert Downey Jr. was. His performance in Tropic Thunder was very impressive. He amazed me with his ability to portray two different characters in one movie. He 'disappears' into the characters. You forget you are watching Robert. I wasn't suprised he was nominated for an Oscar. After watching Chaplin I was even more impressed with his accurate portrayal. He IS Charlie Chaplin. I only saw Chaplin. I forgot it was Robert. It is a shame he didn't win the Oscar. He deserved it. Geraldine Chaplin said it was more than excellent acting. She believed Robert was possessed by her father's spirit. Since then I have taken interest in this gifted actor. I am watching his movies. I have seen 10 RDJ movies so far and I am not disappointed. He hasn't given a flat or dull performance. He is funny and entertaining. I can also connect with him when he is playing more serious roles ( The Soloist and A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints ). He steals the show in every movie he's in. He is one of the finest and most versatile actors of his generation. |

Omg what an actor! =D Amazing, truly amazing. I loved him in Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes, The Soloist, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang and of course Tropic Thunder. Sooo sexy. When I heard him singing a few weeks back I couldnt believe how good he was and really sexy singing voice. Very talented. Love him! =D |
