Breadman Bread Machine Reviews

Breadman has been in the kitchen appliances industry for almost 200 years and it can’t be denied that the company have made major improvements since the day it started. With the performance history that it has, you can always trust a Breadman bread machine to mix, knead and bake the tastiest bread.

The great performance level of the Breadman bread machines lies in their software. The software installed and embedded inside these machines are constantly being reviewed and researched to better serve the company’s customers. You can be sure that you will have the perfect loaf of bread effortlessly and without the mess. With the ability to customize everything from the size of the loaf to the color of its crust, a Breadman bread machine will encourage you to experiment with the various settings but with a little control on its part.

You will be satisfied on how dependable a Breadman can be. It may not be among the cheapest, but it will be worth buying as you discover how much you’ve been saving by making your own bread.

Breadman TR875

The best Breadman bread machine would have to be the Breadman TR875 because despite of it’s compact size, it can produce three different sizes of bread.

With its sleek, stainless steel looks and 16 unique baking functions, this best Breadman bread machine is by far a top favorite among the other bread machines. I mean, who doesn’t want an appliance that would make their baking simple and at the same time enhance the look of their kitchen?

I like that it can make gluten-free bread so it’s a good choice for people who needs to watch what they are eating. This little bread maker also comes with a recipe book should you have no idea how to make breads, although you might find its vertical loaves a bit odd at first.

Breadman TR2200C

This traditional horizontal bread maker is well built and is very capable to accommodate to your bread baking needs. With it’s 35+ function modes and extra ingredients dispenser, you will not get bored of baking your own bread every other day. There is also a 24-hours timer that you can utilize – just make sure that you don’t put any ingredients that would spoil within the timed period.

Breadman TR520

The best thing about this Breadman bread machine is that it has an alarm signal to tell you when is the right time to put the extra ingredients like raisins and almonds. There is also a viewing window for you to see what’s going on inside. Operating it is a breeze with its no-fuss options. Not only is this bread maker perfect for first time bread bakers, it is also great for those under a limited budget!

Breadman BK1060S

This Breadman bread machine has been set with 14 baking settings and equipped with a 15 hour timer. To icing on the cake, the most useful feature is its automatic add-in feature where it will automatically adds in your extra ingredients at the right time of the cycle. And to avoid those pesky holes at the bottom of your loaf of bread, the bread machine’s kneading paddle automatically collapse before it starts baking.

Breadman TR2200C Ultimate Bread Machine

The Breadman TR2200C Ultimate Bread Machine has it all. Whatever you would ever want to make with a bread machine, you can make it with the Breadman Ultimate.

  • Makes homemade bread in 1, 1.5 and 2 pound loaves
  • 110 pre-programmed settings, 430 watts, 60-minute power failure backup
  • Non stick bake pan for easy cleaning
  • Includes instruction manual, recipe booklet, and instructional video
  • Measures 16 by 12 by 10.5 inches; 1 year limited warranty

Note that it has 110 pre-programmed settings? You can also customize your own program to get softer and whiter bread if you like that, or you can go with the recipes for french bread, cinnamon raisin bread, or honey banana whole wheat bread.

There is a dispenser for seeds and I think that is convenient for people who don’t like to hang around and wait for the beep like me.

One drawback is that the Breadman TR2200C Ultimate Bread Machine only has a single dough hook if compared to the Breadman Plus dual dough hooks. If you are used to the mixing quality of dual dough hooks you may less pleased with this one.

It’s not entirely quiet either, but it only makes noise while mixing dough and that is only for a few minutes.

The Breadman TR2200C Ultimate Bread Machine might not be a money-saving option for you if you only bake the same white bread every day. There are less fancy models which do the job nicely that will be kinder on the bank account.

So in one conclusion, this is a great bread machine I would recommend to people who like to bake all kinds of bread and try out new recipes all the time.

Breadman TR520 Programmable Bread Maker

A basic and inexpensive bread maker that works, is how I would describe the Breadman TR520. If you’re looking for a first bread machine that is affordable and not a fuss to use, this is the one.

At only $50, this bread machine is good for the price. It has the Fast Bake option, perfect for those who never bothered to make homemade bread because it simply takes far too long. Now you just put in the ingredients, press a button, and get fresh bread in an hour!

But if you are a perfectionist, maybe it’s a good idea to pause the machine when the dough is punched down and remove the paddle, so that it doesn’t make a big hole in your baked bread later on.

The Breadman TR520 is not as quiet as most, especially during kneading because that step uses quite a bit of energy, but one reviewer suggests scraping the sides of the pan and adding a little extra water during kneading to eliminate that problem.

It walks on the countertop when kneading too, so you might want to place it real deep in so that it doesn’t fall off.

The Breadman TR520 only has pre-programmed cycles, no custom options, so not good for the real experienced bakers who want to try out their own modes. I recommend this for beginners, and it is good enough for many different recipes, such as basic white bread, honey wheat bread, herb bread, seed bread and pizza dough.

It’s hard to go wrong at that price, and the bulk of good reviews are convincing. If you don’t mind the little quirks, get the Breadman TR520 Programmable Bread Maker.

Breadman TR875 2-Pound Bread Machine Review

The simple wonder of bread making, made easier with automated bread machines, back in the days when hand kneading and ovens were the only way to make a good loaf of bread, an automated bread maker would have been considered wizardry, but not today as you can find quite a number of them, and cheap too.

A good example of a cheap but branded bread maker would be this large and not so in charge bread machine. Breadman TR875 has caused a lot of mixed reviews on Amazon, some love it and drop a generous amount of stars while swearing to never ever used anything else besides this, while others would prefer to tie it to a rock and toss it into the Hudson river. Well it will be hard to tell which of these reviews are true so I decided to take it on myself to do a review.

Gluten-free Bread

The first thing I noticed when I bought the bread maker is that it doesn’t look half bad, the stainless steel body and the display, all complemented by the black coloration, the design was really nice as well. After a few minutes of finding the perfect spot on my counter to maximize the “vista” of this maker I finally went through the manual, the moment I saw the Gluten free page my mind began to hover on one review which said it didn’t work well, so I decided to try it out first.

I made a small 1-1/2 lbs mix and followed the recipe book by the letter (with a few reductions and increase here and there), after a few hours the bread was done, I did notice it was a little more wet than if I were to use my BBCCX20 from Zojirushi, but the bread was not chewy and it was ok.

Pretty Good Features for a Budget Bread Machine

Breadman TR875 comes with all the regulars that you were to expect from a bread maker, an LCD display, a paddle (of course), nonstick dough pan and a see through window, which I personally favor since I can take a look at the mixing and baking to assure myself that it’s doing fine.

The other functions that were available were all regular ones that you would find on other break makers, like pizza and French bread, the one I liked the most is the delay start which acts just like a slow cooker, only thing is it only turns on after the programmed amount of time has passes, I use this function the night before so my family can enjoy fresh bread in the morning, I set it for 6 hours at 11 and wake up at 7 for some freshly baked bread.

Almost anything can be done with this bread maker, quite surprising for something under $70 on Amazon, and another feature which I seldom use but appreciate would be the fruit and nut signal which lets me know when I need to pour in that cup of almonds and raisins.

Not Sure It’ll Last Long

However this bread maker is a little flimsy. I haven’t had any problem with the electronics but I would say if your Breadman wasn’t functioning properly then you may have a problem with the electronics, not a big surprise with something as digital and complicating as this. Another concern would be the paddle getting jammed, I have gone through my fair share of bread makers and yes I have had a few jammed, but this is entirely due to having flour getting caught up under the paddle and turning stiff.

So if you are looking for a cheap affordable and particularly fancy bread maker with a lot of functions then you can try your luck at buying the Breadman TR875, but be careful not to receive the refurbished ones as I cannot guarantee how they will turn out.

Black & Decker Bread Machine Reviews

Black & Decker might not be one of the most established brands of bread machines – they do not produce very high end or innovative bread machines, but Black & Decker bread makers are very decently priced and the better models make tasty loaves of bread for a simple way of enjoying life.

Black & Decker B6000C Deluxe Bread Maker

The B6000C Deluxe is easily the best bread machine from Black & Decker. It is easy to use with a progress checking window and an LCD screen with buttons for program selection. For those who are watching what they are eating, you will be happy to know that the machine has “Low Carb” and “Gluten Free” options among its 11 pre-programmed settings.

You will be able to customize your bread sizes (1.5, 2 or 3 pounds) and crust shade (regular to dark). The 13-hour delay timer will let you preset the machine before bed and wake up to the smell of fresh bread. Only thing you need to do for breakfast is then to make a cup of coffee to go with the delicious bread.

The machine also have dual kneading paddles, as opposed to the usual single paddle, so that the dough is kneaded more evenly. Your will get more consistent and high rising breads with another kneading paddle. Although there is no automatic fruit and nut dispenser, the machine has a built-in audible signal to alert you when it’s time to add any additional ingredients to the dough.

For many, including myself, this Black & Decker bread machine is a great bargain and comes highly recommended. Read more here: Black & Decker B6000C Deluxe

Black & Decker BK1015W Bread Machine

When you live by yourself, sometimes it’s hard to find an appliance that is only meant to do a small job. This bread machine however, is one of the few that is catered to make small portions of bread. It makes two sizes of bread – 1-pound and 1-1/2 pound loaves.

What’s great about this minutiae bread machine is that it can be brought anywhere in your travel! It also has a 7-minute back up for power outage so you won’t lose your settings when that happens. One thing though, it doesn’t come with many recipes so you will have to find some online. I highly recommend looking for Black & Decker bread machine recipes so that the bread will come out fine.

Black & Decker B2250 All-In-One Automatic Breadmaker

This All-In-One Automatic Breadmaker is able to make bread of up to 2lbs. per loaf, making the machine great for singles, couples and small families to have on their kitchen countertop.

Unlike some appliances around the house, this little bread maker works almost silently so that you can use it while having a conversation in the kitchen unobtrusively. Of course, you can use the delay timer so that it can work while no one is in the house. While it comes with some bread recipes, judging from what I’ve seen, they are not the best. Good news is that you can find loads on the internet.

Bread Machine Tips

Hi guys! On this site, I’ve basically been giving you my own personal bread machine reviews for your viewing pleasure.

As I was writing them up, I realized that even having a great bread machine suitable for your needs isn’t going to cut it unless you know how to use one properly.

While you can find an instruction booklet included in the box when you make your bread machine purchase, some things you just need to learn when you’re actually using one. I’ve condensed my learning experiences into a few fabulous tips you can use to make sense of your bread machine experience. Enjoy!

Bread Machine Tip #1

When making bread, always use good ingredients. Ensuring that your flour is unbleached, not chemically treated, and made from hard wheat will add nutritional value to your bread and make you healthier.

Besides that, remember that fresh eggs and milk and other perishable ingredients shouldn’t be sitting in a bread machine for hours at end in a bread machine. Don’t use a delayed cycle if you know you’ll be using such ingredients. Rather, try using powdered eggs and milk.

Bread Machine Tip #2

When trying to decide what kind of yeast will work best, try using only instant active dry yeast, which comes in packets and looks like powder. The rapid rising variety of yeast isn’t encouraged.

Adding too much yeast can result in your bread rising too much. In the confined space of a bread machine, this can result in a raw top, which has sunken back down into the bread and not been baked sufficiently.

To counter yeast problems, remember this: Yeast action can be inhibited by certain ingredients like sugar, salt, cinnamon and fresh garlic. Therefore when baking bread with any of these ingredients, always check the recipe twice and be extra careful about measurements.

Bread Machine Tip #3

The cycles on the control panel of a bread machine really do affect how your bread is going to turn out. Knowing which cycle you should use for which type of bread will make your bread turn out yummier and better looking, every time.

Use a whole-wheat cycle not just for breads whose recipes call for whole-wheat flour, but also other flours like rye, cornmeal and buckwheat, which are typically called “heavy” flours.

Use a French bread cycle to make breads whose recipes call for less fat and sugar. The crisp crusts and soft insides of fresh French bread can be yours due to the cycle’s shorter knead time and longer rise time.

Well, that’s it for bread machine tips. More bread machine reviews coming up.

Bread Machine Tips 2

Using a bread machine can be as easy as pushing a button, if you are already somewhat experienced in making your own bread. But if you’re really a newbie, and the bread machine manual is not well-written, then it’s probably time for you to search online for some good bread machine tips.

I’ve written some tips in my previous post – Bread Machine Tips, but here are more tips to share, and I’ll write some more when I get the time.

Tip #1
You can let your bread machine do all the work for you, and get a tasty loaf of bread; or you can use the dough cycle. Using the dough cycle means that you place the ingredients in the machine, then let it mix and knead the dough for you. After the first rise, you can take it out and form it into any shape you want, then let it sit and rise for the second time, and finally it goes into the oven for baking.

This is how you do pizza crusts, croissants, dinner rolls, baguettes and more.

Tip #2
If you hate getting a big hole in your perfect loaf every time when pulling out the paddle, pause the machine and remove the paddle when the dough has risen for the last time. This might not be easy to do with some bread machines, or you might think it’s not really worth the effort.

Tip #3
Make sure your ingredients are in room temperature before you put them into the bread machine. Although some bread machines warm the ingredients before doing any mixing, it’s better if you microwave the refrigerated milk to the right temperature first. Anything from the refrigerator like cheese, yeast, eggs or buttermilk should sit at room temperature for a period of time before adding them.

Tip #4
When placing salt and yeast into the bread machine, take care not to let the two sit together. Salt will inhibit the rising action if placed together with yeast, resulting in a less light and fluffy bread. I find that it is better to add the salt after the liquid and before the flour, and the yeast in a small well in the flour.

All right then, until next time, I hope these will help.

How To Choose A Bread Machine

As with all things in life, to do something one must know how to go about doing it. When choosing a bread machine, there are a few things to look for to ensure that your bread machine experience will be nothing less than perfect. Anybody serious about the whole process should read on and discover how to choose a bread machine and what finer points to consider before paying good money for a bread machine of your own.

Space To Put Bread Machine

The first thing one should remind oneself with is to make sure that there is space in the kitchen for a bread machine. One of the main problem bread machine owner face is no space to put or store the bread machine. Without storage space, there is no point in buying a bread machine in the first place.

Size Of Loaves

Besides that, the capacity of the bread machine will also count for something. A quick look at the pan in the bread machine will give one a rough idea of the size of the loaves. Never buy one with too large capacity than necessary because home made bread does not last as long as store brought bread due to its lack of preservatives. But do keep in mind that if your family consumes a small amount of bread now, once you purchase your new bread machine, it’s more likely that the bread consumption will be increase so choose a slightly larger size but not too large bread machine.

Always check the settings of the model you are intending to buy. The specifications are quite important, because they will determine what you can or cannot do with your bread machine.

A bread machine with a delay timer will ensure that ingredients can be placed in the bread machine overnight and fresh bread can be had for breakfast. A bread maker that will only make dough and not bake it as well can make dough for pizza and other baked goods.

A bread maker that can signal you to add ingredients during the bread making process helps make nut bread or add fruits to your bread for a healthier option.

keep-warm option can also be an inclusion in your criteria if you think you won’t be there when the bread is done. Other specifications to look for include different cycles like whole wheat, French bread, fruit or nut.

The last thing to remember and to check for is a good warranty and servicing options to safeguard your investment should anything go wrong.

Amish White Bread

I love this bread submitted by Peg! It’s a bit dense, sweet and tastes good with butter. Well, I’m sure if you put less sugar, your elderly in the family will appreciated the bread even more:)
